Environmental issues do not cease at national borders
New LIFE- focus booklet about LIFE – Third Countries 1992.-2006. – EU support in capacity building for strategy and environmental protection measures.

Environmental issues need to be solved in coordinated and trans-national way. In terms of that, improvement of air quality and cleanliness of rivers mostly require trans-border cooperation.    
Significant way of European Union support in effort to improve quality of environment and capacities for environment management was the LIFE- Third Countries programme (LIFE-TCY).
LIFE-TCY co-funded several projects that support the development of environmental strategy and management opportunities in border regions of EU.
Some of many successful accomplishments of this project illustrated in the publication of LIFE Third Countries 1992.- 2006., which has followed for 15 years of LIFE-TCY. Within this publication, it included the project of the Institute for Urbanism of RS, j.s.c. Banjaluka. LIFE00/ TCY/ 000041: LICENSE Local Institutional Capacity Development in Environmentally Sensitive Areas 2002.- 2004.
