• Let`s make the revision of business activities during last year! Which are the successful activities?

B. Milojević, Master of Architecture: In last year, the expert teams of Institute successfully worked on the realization of significant projects. Adoption of the Spatial Plan of RS is in the final phase. It was prepared the Proposal of Spatial plan of Gradiska, Proposal of the Urbanism plan of Bileca, Project of the highway on corridor Vc – the lot through RS (there were prepared: Engineering study, Conceptual design, Basements for planning documents, Environmental Impact Study and Preliminary design), Urban – engineering documents for designing and construction of the primary gas line "SAVA" and its branches, pilot project of the zoning plan for central area Banjaluka. It is in progress the Proposal prepration of alteration and supplement of the RP of exploitation fields of the mine `Stanari`.

During the last year, it was adopted nine regulatory plans in the area of Banjaluka Town. Therefore, nine regulatory plans have passed the procedure of public perusal and prepared for adoption at the Town Parliament, while 13 of them are currently in the phase of pre-draft procedure. It is in progress the adoption of 22 regulatory plans for the needs of following municipalities: Celinac, Laktasi, Teslic, Doboj, Brcko Distrikt, Bosanski Brod, Trnovo, Ustipraca, Kopaci, Bileca, Gacko, Rogatica, Istocna Ilidza, adopted seven regulatory plans (for needs of the municipalities: Celinac, Laktasi, Teslic, Visegrad, Srpsko Novo Sarajevo, Drinic and Drvar), and three regulatory plans (Municipality Rogatica) are in the procedure od public perusal.

Scope and character of the works performed by IURS confirm its significant role in preparation of planning – engineering documents for strategical projects in the area of BiH.

Institute, as an active participant in the preparation of the projects GAP and SPIR, gave full contribution to creation of new planning methodology and associate legal provisions. I would as well emphasize the improvement within preparation methodology of urban and regulatory plans with application of GIS technology, which promoted in the preparation of UP of Gradiska and Revision of central area of Banjaluka. In this way, there were created the foundations for preparation of the zoning.

With this year`s successful performance at Exhibition of urban planning held in  Novi Sad, Institute created a long continuance of participation at this international, traditional event – project "Institutional framework for regional environmental development" (INFRA RED) received a second prize within the  category `Study and research`.
During last year, we successfully expanded the scope of work within the consulting area, with entering into a contract with trade company `Pevec` and other legal and private subjects.

Also, there is a significant breakthrough on the market of Federation of BiH (Velika Kladusa, Gorazde, Travnik and Brcko District).

• What would be the global plan for the following year?
  

B. Milojević, Master of Architecture: The focus is on continuance of positive trend of business activities, to which, it will certainly contribute upgrading, development and application of GIS technology on all levels of planning documents.
Therefore, it is in the interest of our Institute, more significant participation in the realization of strategical projects in the territory of RS, as well as larger scope of works within the preparation of spatial – planning documents for the needs of the municipalities within region.

• Could you define the position of IURS on business map of the region?

 B. Milojević, Master of Architecture: Institue for Urbanism of the Republic of Srpska, through involvement on the projects of GAP and other international projects aquired a good reputation in the country and imposed as leading expert institution that surpasses in achieved level of the development of methodology and technique of planning. With its performance, work and results, the Institute has confirmed the staff and engineering skills, following up the trends in further development of planning systems and imposed as creator of new designs.
