It is a strange when do you work in environment of type – all knows everything about everyone, and read in the newspapers!? News – man that works at first floor of our firm, the system administrator, Zoran Novakovic won the highest peak of South America. PAF.

Now, I will evade the words of thanks, with handful of attributes, since pathetic is not may favorite style.
But, I found myself in sticky situation – that is for sure:
Thus, I came down yesterday in Zoka`s office, with my dictaphone and global vision how will this interview look like. I knew about alpinism only from two movies that I more overslept than watched. But, as journalism was written in my genetic codes, I was never afraid that my interview would turn out bad. I was just joking.
I looked a million of fantastic photos, `dived` into the world of alpinism and, for an hour, in all possible and impossible ways conducted `mission impossible` – to get story from man talking mimicry, with laugh and very shorten sentences. So, this definetelly wouldn`t be a typical interview……I thought, while I collected my things and left the administrative office. And, he (Zoka), still, went on excursion in unknown, more exactly, intrigant ……I was thinking on my way to the office. Well, it was important that information had an active status, from point A to point B. That wasn`t the problem, writing the story! After an hour of interview, I would still have journalist`s form. Here, what I found out:

System administrator of IURS, j.s.c. Banjaluka, Zoran Novakoković was winning the the peak of mountains because 1) he liked it and because 2) he `rested` his brain. Few years ago, he went by accident on winter ascent and realized that he liked the winter. Besides, he won Aconcagua of 6.962m height, he climbed on Mon Blan of 4807m, some Italian and Austrian peaks (Gros Glokner– 3798m, Gran Paradizo..).
These first two peaks were, as he said, incomparable.

Mon Blan was difficult in technical terms, because of slipping. While during the climbing on Aconcagua, it appeared altitude problems (altitude problems, coldness of around -40 oC which often daily varied up to +10 oC, wind). During the climbing, he carried the weight of 20kg, which certainly, made more difficult the climbing to the final goal.

His entire story, Zoran brought down on the following:

  • To get figured how to breathe (three inhalation,
then step, and all again up to the peak)
  • Had a beautiful view
  • And he was thinking, when he climbed on the top,
how came down the mountain, because you had
    been already quite tired.
On the top, he kept for few minutes. If you were lucky that your camera wasn`t frozen, you made few photographs, obligatory with some flag. But, carefully, if you wouldn`t have been sailed off for few hundred meters. And, finally, I was running back.

Apparently, some Bulgarian, when he arrived on the top of Aconcagua, he unfolded his flag, but wind thrown him for 200 hunderd meters on the other side of mountain. While Zoran was staying in Andes, two Poland got frozen, among sixteen mountaineers of his expedition ran by the organization "Extreme Summit Team", only ten of them successfully climbed on the top of mountain. Besides controlled breathing and drinking from 4 to 5 liters of water, it was constantly needed sun and wind protection (Zoran used Sun protection creme Vichy - factor 50), and the most often, there was not bathing for fifteen days. At that height, there was nothing but wind, sun and snow.

The hero of our story didn`t have a wish to climb on Maunt Everest. „Everest is too complicated. Most of them never came back. Did I need that?! “.

Zoran Novakovic works in the Institute as system administrator. Generally, he was interested in networks. „You connect people so they live more easily“. Problem is that technology develops very fast, evoluates, Problem je što se tehnologija jako brzo razvija, evoluira, and he all the time he feels that he moves slowly. He spends a lot of time studying. So, an ideal relaxation would be escape in nature.

And, we expect that he will surprise us again...

If you are not sure what are you missing, take good look at the photographs.
