STUDY OF INTEGRAL RURAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA OF NORTHWEST PART OF BANJALUKA CITY, SIMICI – BRONZANI MAJDAN

Second working meeting , for the preparation of the study `Rural integral development in the area of northwest part of Banjaluka City, Simici – Bronzani Majdan, was held on November 20th of 2008 year in Donja Piskavica (Cultural center). This meeting opened at 9.00 hours.
Iniitator of the study preparation is City development agency of Banjaluka, and preparation of this strategic document is entrusted to the expert`s team of Institute for Urbanism of RS, j.s.c. Banjaluka.
Objective of second working meeting is data gathering for preparation of SWOT analysis, which necessary for second phase of Study preparation (SWOT analysis is key tool for determination of comparative advantages of this area and it gives main input data for identification of development elements.
It carried out by discussion per groups:

• Internal (subject to the control) strengths and weaknesses
• External (not subject to the control) weaknesses and strengths.

Representatives of local interest groups that participated at second working meeting are the following: representatives of the Ministries and Municipal government, Secondary school of Agriculture, Tourist’s organization, Center for rural development, officers and  presidents of local community councils  coming from this study area, NGOs, potential investors...
The meeting was set up in two parts. During first part of the meeting, it presented the methodology of SWOT analysis. In second part of the meeting, the participants activelly participated, and had been organized per four working groups: 

• Spatial development and infrastructure;
• Agriculture and other economic activities;
• Environment protection and tourism development;
• Social segment.

Organizers of the meeting were pleased with participation and active involvement of the local interest groups. Results of the group work will present the foundation for preparation of integral and section SWOT analysis.  Therefore, it will be held one more working meeting for the Study preparation.

Second working meeting will be held on Thursday, 20th of November 2008 year, in Donja Piskavica (Cultural center), with the beginning at 9.00 hours.
