 STUDY OF INTEGRAL RURAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA OF NORTHWEST PART OF BANJALUKA CITY, SIMICI – BRONZANI MAJDAN

Preparation of the Study was initiated by City development agency of Banjaluka in aim of the valorization of natural and newly created resources in rural area of Banjaluka and activating the positive economic and social effects of agricultural and tourist enterprise development. 
Expert’s team of Institute for Urbanism of RS, j.s.c. Banjaluka as the the main contractor of the study of INTEGRAL RURAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA OF NORTHWEST PART OF BANJALUKA CITY, SIMICI – BRONZANI MAJDAN, will carry out the project activities in the fields of: tourism, agriculture, economy, spatial planning, forestry, ecology, urban planning, water engineering, traffic, power supply and telecommunications, geology, geodesy, law and informatics.  

Basic goal of this project is site surveying in order to more detailed identify direction of development and action, then improvement of sustainable development of the rural area of Banjaluka, with implementation of an own development model. This Study should also achieve the specific goal – increase  the number of economically payable, environment sound and social – economic MSE-s in rural area of Banjaluka.

Spatial zone of the Study includes the following locations:

  • Bronzani Majdan;
  • Borkovici;
  • Bistrica;
  • Gornja Piskavica;
  • Piskavica;
  • Simici;
  • Misin Han;
  • Potkozarje;
  • Verici

In rural area of Banjaluka, depopulation identified as the basic problem because of the:

  • Lack of sustainable development practice;
  • Bureaucratic obstacles prepreke

Study will lay emphasis on the following priorities:

Priority 1 – adapatation of agricultural structures, investment in agricultural households, orientation of agricultural production on environment protection, support to the establishment and management of agricultural households, improvement of the quality of cultivated land, establishment of land registry, raising the level of expertize, water potential management, forestry, affforestation and investment in private forests
Priority 2 – food industry, quality, health, gaining access to the market, processing and trade with agricultural products, structural control of the quality, veterinary – sanitary control, border control, establishment of the producer`s association, cooperative, association, network .....
Priority 3 – development of rural area, development and introduction of the new economic activities as an additional income source, revitalization and development of villages and preservation of rural inheritance, development and improvement of rural infrastructure, handicrafts in rural environment as an additional income source
Priority 4 – development of rural eco-tourism, development option of eco-tourism points, development of ambient ecology and architecture, development of tourist component of rural households, development of tourist infrastructure in rural area, standardization, classification and numeration of the rural households
