Preparation of this study was initiated by Banjaluka Town Development Agency, in aim of the valuation of natural and new-created resources in the rural area of Banjaluka and launching of positive economic and social outcomes resulted from the development of agricultural and tourist enterprises. Expert team of IURS, j.s.c Banjaluka as carrier of the preparation of the study `Rural integral development in the area of canyon Vrbas and Manjaca plateau`, will carry out the required activities within the fields of: tourism, agriculture, economy, spatial planning, forestry, ecology, urban planning, water engineering, traffic, electrical engineering and telecommunications, geology, geodesy, law and informatics. |
Basic goal of this project is site surveying to determine a more detailed direction of development and action, then improvement of sustainable development of rural area of Banjaluka by implementation of own development model. With this study, it as well planned to create the specific goal – increase of the number of economic profitable, ecologically sound and social – economic SMEs in rural area of Banjaluka.
Spatial scope Study includes the following sites:
- Vrbas canyon;
- International Center `Krupa na Vrbasu`;
- Sport – recreation center and Air resort `Stricici;
- Development – educational center " Manjaca ";
- Tourist recreational center of `Ethno village of Cokorska Polja`.
As basic problem of Banjaluka rural area, it identified the depopulation as the consequence of the following:
- Nonexistence of sustainable development practice;
- Bureaucratic obstacles
Study will specially focus on the following priorities:
Priority 1 – adaptation of agricultural structures
Priority 2 – industry of food, quality, health, access to the market
Priority 3 – development of rural area
Priority 4 – development of rural eco-tourism
